Why scale weight misleads

Strength training rebuilds muscle, which is denser than fat. You can lose two inches off your waist while the scale moves only a pound or two.

The five numbers I track instead

Waist circumference at the navel. How my favorite jeans fit. Resting heart rate. Sleep quality (1-10). Energy at 3pm (1-10). When four of five trend up, I'm winning regardless of the scale.
